If we don’t talk about
HIV/AIDS in our
community, who will?
Welcome - from Valérie Pierre-Pierre, Director, ACCHO
The African and Caribbean Council on HIV/AIDS in Ontario (ACCHO) is pleased to unveil its brand new website. Our new site was conceived with the intention of providing (a) more information on ACCHO, the work we do and issues related to HIV/AIDS that affect African, Caribbean and Black communities in Ontario, and (b) a more pleasant end-user experience.

The Home page of the site features a brand new video that documents the history of ACCHO, while raising awareness of issues related to HIV/AIDS among African, Caribbean and Black communities in Ontario. This video is a companion to ACCHO’s recent history document, ACCHO – Engaging Communities and Supporting Action on HIV/AIDS among African, Caribbean and Black Communities in Ontario. The Home page also features “Partner in Focus”, a section where partners of ACCHO are highlighted. This is our way of recognizing the many agencies that contribute to the work and success of ACCHO, and the response to HIV/AIDS among African, Caribbean and Black communities. About Us has been revamped. You will now find information about the vision, mission, role, guiding principles, and membership of ACCHO. There is also more information on the Strategy to Address Issues Related to HIV Faced by People in Ontario from Countries Where HIV is Endemic (the Strategy). We are also pleased to share with you information about all of our work under Programs. Learn about our activities in the areas of Capacity Building, Research and Social Marketing. Finally, check out our Calendar, which highlights both ACCHO and other community events. ACCHO and its membership and partners do great work to respond to HIV/AIDS among African, Caribbean and Black communities in Ontario, and we feel this work needs to be shared with the communities we work with and for. We hope you enjoy the new ACCHO website. We welcome your comments and suggestions. For Us, By Us, About Us, Always!
