 BLACK GAY MEN'S SUMMIT
ACCHO will host the Ontario Black Gay Men's Summit - Cultures of Sexuality and Black Men's Health - on March 26-28, 2010 in Toronto at the Ramada Hotel (300 Jarvis Street).

The Summit is a free event for African, Caribbean, and Black gay and bisexual men, transmen and queer men from Ontario. The Summit program will feature presentations, workshops and discussions on issues related to sexuality, culture, health, social justice and community.

A community steering committee is organizing the Summit on behalf of ACCHO, and the Summit is part of ACCHO's efforts to engage African, Caribbean, and Black communities in Ontario in responding to HIV.

Working together to stop HIV/AIDS stigma

TORONTO – February 28, 2008

Today ACCHO released a new fact sheet on HIV/AIDS stigma affecting African and Caribbean communities in Ontario. How we can stop HIV/AIDS stigma in Toronto’s African and Caribbean communities is the second fact sheet from the African and Caribbean Stigma Study.

A team of researchers from ACCHO, the University of Toronto and other institutions in and around Toronto conducted the study from 2004 to 2006. The purpose of the Stigma Study was to understand the role of HIV stigma in Toronto’s African and Caribbean communities.
