Treatment, a healthy lifestyle and strong social support help people living with HIV/AIDS (PHA) to maintain good health. However, many PHAs do not share their status with friends and family for fear of gossip and rejection. Armed with the facts we can be a part of the solution. Speak up about HIV to friends and family. In an atmosphere of dignity and respect, we all win.

HIV stigma

People tend to be afraid of things they do not understand. A lack of knowledge about HIV and its transmission can lead to unwillingness to talk about it, to test or to support HIV positive community members.
