Build your capacity
to better support ACB communities.

Capacity building program

Our capacity building program was created to strengthen the capacity of service-providers working with African, Caribbean, and Black communities in Ontario in the context of HIV. The program supports our province-wide network, other stakeholders, as well as internal staff, to:

  1. Provide support to AIDS service organizations (ASOs) and other agencies to foster a better understanding of the issues and needs of African, Caribbean, Black people living with HIV/AIDS and/or at risk of HIV.
  2. Meaningfully engage African, Caribbean, and Black people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS to be leaders in the response to HIV/AIDS.
  3. Help to heighten HIV/AIDS awareness and mobilize African, Caribbean, and Black communities through various community engagement activities.
  4. Promote increased awareness as well as the implementation of the Ontario HIV/AIDS Strategy for African, Caribbean and Black Communities 2013-2021 (the ACB Strategy).

Strengthening the capacity of service providers working with ACB communities in Ontario in the context of HIV.
